It seems too good to be true but science is catching up with spot fat reduction.It consists of pads that are placed directly on the skin for 15 minutes that emit a specific wavelength of light (635nm) that causes fat cells to essentially “collapse and release the fat”  similar to squeezing the jelly out of jelly donut. Light therapy is not new. It’s been used for many ailments ranging from chronic pain to wound healing to hair growth. What is new is light being used to target fat cells. After adipose cells were exposed to a specific wavelength, 99% of the fat was released from the cells through a “pore” in the cell membrane.

The result? Simply put: inch loss. Impressive spot reduction anywhere on the body including the arms, back, bra bulge, saddlebags, thighs, abdomen, even the breasts – anywhere there is excessive, unwanted fat deposits.

The best part about the Light Therapy is there is no bruising, swelling, burning, pain, downtime or anesthesia required; essentially NO SIDE EFFECTS! In fact,  our guests describe it as “pleasurable as a hot stone massage.”

So what happens to the fat? Once the fat leaves the fat cells, it is transported as free fatty acids to the lymphatic system to be used as energy.

It is ESSENTIAL that you follow these instructions for optimal results from REFRESH-LIGHT treatments!

WEEK PRIOR TO TREATMENT IF POSSIBLE – IF NOT, DAYS PRIOR:

• Liberal water intake: More than 64 ounces a day.  1/2 of your body weight in onces is ideal. Best to drink 1/2 glass every hour.

• OK to take ALL medications even diuretics (substance that increases flow of urine.)

Take yor prescribed nutritional supplements.

• Do not binge eat!

• DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL THE NIGHT BEFORE REFRESH-LIGHT!!

DAY OF TREATMENT – PRIOR TO TREATMENT:

• Drink 24 oz of water (coffee, tea, cola DO NOT count as water!)

• HOLD diuretics until day after (if applicable)

• Take normal medications and supplements but DO NOT take diuretics

• Do not drink caffeine 3-4 hours prior to treatment

• Do not drink carbonated drinks 3-4 hours prior to treatment

• Do not have a heavy meal prior to treatment (Eat but do not over stuff yourself)

• Do not fast prior to your treatment. Not eating will make your body go into starvation mode and your treatment results will not be as significant.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER REFRESH-LIGHT:

• YOU MUST PARTICIPATE IN FAT BURNING EXERCISE – i.e. walk or run on treadmill, cycle, or elliptical exercise at our clinic. The longer the exercise, the more likely it is that the fat that was mobilized into the circulatory system will leave the body! Drink another 36 ounces of water after Refresh-Light and during exercise if possible. You can typically expect the following as a result of your hard work effort (exercise).

30 minutes exercise = 40-60% of fat metabolized = FAIR results

45 minutes exercise = 60-80% of fat metabolized = GOOD results

60 minutes exercise = 80-100% of fat metabolized = EXCELLENT results

• DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL and DO NOT BINGE EAT!! You may experience hunger cravings because a lot of fat has been metabolized and your body is not used to that! Fight the hunger pains (if any) and stick to good eating habits.

 

DAY AFTER TREATMENT

• Continue liberal water intake

• Resume diuretics (if applicable)

Optional: wear a compression garment like Spanx, Walcoal, or Assets (sold at Target).
It should feel comfortably tight and wear every day for at least 12 hours

• Watch your appetite as it may be increased – DO NOT increase normal calories

• Exercise if possible.  Remember a large amount of fat has been dumped into the circulatory system and it’s important to burn all that you can to prevent it from re-storing.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU HAVE LOST A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF FAT FROM ONE AREA OF YOUR BODY AND THE DRAMATIC CHANGE IS PERMANENT ONLY IF YOU DO NOT REVERSE IT BY:

• DRINKING ALCOHOL

• BINGE EATING (eat 4-6 meals daily and spread out your calorie intake)

• EATING TO MANY CARBOHYDRATES

THIS ADVICE IS NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER BODY SCULPTING PROCEDURE!
